Richmond Bautista

Open to remote roles

Software developer who automates the repetitive parts.

Mobile, web and infrastructure work in TypeScript and Python, plus the tools I build to remove manual steps from my own workflow.

Projects

Production work is under confidentiality, so it is described without source code or personal data, and users are named only at the level I am allowed to share. Screenshots open in a viewer and use aggregate figures or sample data, with personal details cropped or blurred. DocDiff is public.

Production, mobile and web

In use by the Philippine Department of Agriculture's Sugar Regulatory Administration (DA-SRA)

Field-survey platform (M3DAS)

An Expo mobile app captures profiles, machinery, GPS coordinates, QR codes and photos offline in SQLite, then synchronizes them with a Next.js backend. The web side adds scoped roles, review workflows, maps and analytics.

Web, API and firmware

Being adopted by a private school in Laguna, Philippines

Management information system (Arvouz MIS)

A web application with separate web and API apps, plus firmware for an attendance tap device. It has per-organization payroll and attendance modules and an internal admin console. Built under written project rules, with a version log.

  • Next.js 16
  • React 19
  • Prisma 7
  • Tailwind 4
  • Docker

Personal project, deployed

Live at go.arvouz.com since October 2026

Arvouz Short: multi-domain link shortener

A self-hosted short-link service where each domain is its own workspace. It has per-link analytics (device, browser, OS, referrer and country), QR codes, API keys with a REST API, roles and an installable, mobile-friendly interface.

  • Next.js 16
  • Prisma 7
  • Neon Postgres
  • Cloudflare Workers
  • Brevo

Open source, developer tooling

DocDiff: Word documents in git

A VS Code extension that opens .docx files and makes git tools show what changed in them instead of "Binary files differ". It works in the terminal, Source Control, Git Graph, GitLens and pull requests.

  • TypeScript
  • VS Code API
  • esbuild

Automation

I like removing manual steps.

When I notice myself repeating a task, I tend to build a tool for it. I enjoy that work as much as the product work, and I keep these tools small, tested and under version control.

Personal tool, Next.js

Repo Sync

A local control center for my git repositories. It shows each repo's branch and ahead/behind state, switches branches, and pulls or pushes one repo or all of them. It also backs up my whole workspace to an external drive, which it recognizes by filesystem UUID.

  • Next.js 16
  • React 19
  • TypeScript
  • rsync
  • Node test runner

Agent automation, guardrails

Proxmox MCP server

Lets an AI agent run cluster operations such as backups and scheduled jobs, while a kill switch, per-tool gate, audit log and approval step keep every action reviewable. I enjoy building the automation and the safety around it together.

  • MCP
  • Proxmox VE

How I work

Working remotely

Habits that keep work moving when nobody is in the same room.

  • TimezoneBased in UTC+08:00 (Philippines time).
  • Written downProject rules and a version log in my main repos, so work can be picked up without a call.
  • Small, reviewable commitsLarge tasks are split into steps, and each commit says why the change was made. Work flows from a feature branch to staging to production, and production merges wait for my confirmation.
  • AI with reviewI use Claude Code and Codex and check types, lint and the data they touch before accepting their output.
  • Sessions on recordAI-assisted sessions are archived in the repo with what changed and what is left, so context survives between days.
  • Automation habitI script and test my own repeated tasks, so routine work stays quick and consistent.

Contact

Let's talk

I am open to remote roles. Email is the fastest way to reach me.

Good fit for

  • Mobile apps that work offline and sync later
  • Next.js web apps with roles, maps and analytics
  • Automation and AI-agent tooling with guardrails
